Stewed Okra & Tomatoes {Bemieh bel Zeit}
A simple delicious dish of Okra ,cooked the Lebanese style.

  1. Wash and wipe the okra. Trim the head and tails.
  2. Slit the okra making sure you keep them intact.
  3. Spray a little oil on the okras.
  4. Place them in a air fryer and roast till they turn slightly crisp.
  5. Alternatively you can deep fry the okra.
  6. Add 4-6 teaspoons of fresh oil in a pan and saute the onions and bell peppers until they turn golden or lightly caramelised. Sauté for 3-4 more minutes.
  7. Add the okra to the pan , stir well.
  8. Add the sliced tomatoes and the garlic.
  9. Sprinkle cayenne peppers and salt, mix well and let cook on low heat for 5-7 minutes.
