Grilled Potato Sandwich is a sandwich made with grated potatoes and grilled to a perfect golden with a smear of butter .
When you get married and come to a new house you really don’t know the eating habits of a family , and this is exactly what happened with me . I came from a bread loving family where we ate a variety of sandwich toasts , but in my new family there were more of Parathas , Cheela type breakfast . So one day I asked my hubby ‘ Do you get bread in Ahemdabad ? “ . My mother in law laughed and got one and made a grated potato sandwich . This is one of the first grilled sandwich which I learnt from her and I am surprised that in all these years of blogging I haven’t posted this !
The sandwich is easy and quick to make and tastes awesome . Pack it up for your kids , like I used to do . Don’t forget to put a ketchup sachet in the box . The sandwich tastes awesome with it . I have used Indian spices here but you can use just salt and pepper and it tastes equally great . Go ahead try this one and let me know how you like it .

I love potato sandwich as mom used to make them regularly. But the grated potato filling is new to me. With some sauce this would be wonderful.
So sweet of your mother in law ! I love the filling know it will taste amazing.

That’s very nice of your MIL. Glad you posted this recipe now. It’s better to be late than never.
Such a sweet MIL and love your innocent question! I love the idea of grating the potatoes. That would be so easy to layer. Bookmarking this recipe to make for the boys lunch.
I never think of using potatoes in sandwiches as here you never see as it’s putting carb inside of carb but I suppose for kids it’s good as these diet issues are less of a concern.
