A new week and a new sub theme . Yes we are working under Protein Rich theme for our September Mega Marathon and this week I shall post recipes with Dried Fruits , Nuts and Seeds . The previous weeks featured Kebabs, Biryanis and Salads, all with a Protein punch.
Nuts and seeds provide good amounts of protein if consumed in moderation .  These can be high in calories so a portion control is very important . They make a wonderful choice for those in between meetings or on the go and definitely a better choice than the fried snacks at parties.

Among nuts Almonds rank the highest , walnuts , pistachios and peanuts are also good sources of protein in addition to being a good source of fiber and fats .  Dried fruits and seeds too contain protein .

On our last vacation to Spain , we did lot of sight seeing and can you believe we saw Butter Roasted Almonds and peanuts on the streets . These were sold in small packs and were ideal for our munching . Being vegetarian it was difficult to find the food of our choice so these nuts kept us going .  For today I have made Curried Spiced Nuts , on the lines of those buttered nuts . I added the curry powder that I got from Canary Islands . This spice powder is very flavourful and has garlic and onion powder , along with herbs like oregano , chilly flakes , but you can use any curry powder that you relish.

The Nuts turned out very delicious and trust me I  actually had to watch my portion control . My hubby simply loved the twist with that curry powder . You got to try these to know what I am talking about . And now my hubby has asked me to make a very big batch so he can give it as gifts . Well I didn’t know that the Protein Rich Nuts would drive me Nuts ! On a serious note , I am loving the idea and will be making a huge batch for friends.

Well you guys too must try these and let me know how you liked them .
