Motichoor Cheese Cake is a delicious no-bake cheesecake made with golden Oreos, cream and Indian sweet Motichoor ladoos.
4 th September is my Dad’s Birthday and every year I make it a point to post a cake to wish him. He is not with us anymore, and it has been a while since he left. Mom made up for his absence, but unfortunately, nature has its way and we have to follow. We lost her too last year.
Both my parents had their birthdays in September, even their wedding anniversary in September. There was always a lot to celebrate, but again in those days, the celebrations were very simple. After dad left normally the family went out for dinners.
Dad, unlike mom, was a foodie and loved entertaining. We perpetually had dinners. Dad would get the vegetables with the house boy and he would remove the best crockery and cutlery and made sure it was all washed and cleaned, counted and placed back. The menus would always feature some kind of paneer and pakoras or Tikkis. It’s been so long that my memory fails now.
Mom had given up cooking after dad fell sick and whenever I asked her any recipes she would coolly say – I don’t remember! I wish I had documented it all while they were there. It’s a treasure to go back and refresh your fond memories.
I am a strong believer in living in present, but we must always cherish the fond memories of our parents. This is my small way of paying my parents a small ode. Love you dad! Love you, mom!
My way to pay an Ode to Dad over a couple of years –

The Motichoor Cheese Cake is a fusion cheesecake with the crust made from golden Oreos. The cream cheese has some Motichoor in it and then it’s garnished with Ladoo halves and rose petals.
Our theme this year is Sweet and Snacks. The sweets had to be either traditional or fusion. The Motichoor Cheese Cake fitted the theme beautifully. So here I am with this delicious no-bake cheese cake.
