BM # 4  Day 3

After a spicy treat,lets get on to something sweeter today………
This is a little……hatke imli chutney than the regular chutney which we need to stock for our dahiwadas….it ‘s added with nuts which after cooking with a blend of sweet n tangy taste ….is awsum on u r raita’s…gujiya’s n dahiwadas.

Everytime I add this to my curds..i don’t spare the spoon …just lick it offJ…..
Spread it on u r chapatti …make a roll n…..bite ….!!!…..bet u wud want one extra chapatti.
1 ¼ cup ……………….tamarind pulp
1 cup…………………..jaggery
10-15…………………..raisins(soaked)
5-6……………………..almonds(soaked ,peeled n cut into silvers)
5-6……………………..dry dates(chuara/kharek)..roughly chopped
1tb sp…………………sunflower seeds/melon seeds/pumpin seeds
¼ tsp…………………..red chilly pwd
½ tsp…………………..black salt
¼ tsp…………………..roasted jeera pwd
………………………….a pinch hing

Boil the tamarind pulp with jaggery and nuts n seeds till jaggery melts n the nuts are cooked…u got to check the consistency…should be little thick!..

Add the spices…………cool……store.

  1. This is a awesome recipe – those tamarind chutneys I have outside my home are often hit or miss, mostly miss – but I love all the ingredients in yours (except the kaala namak) and seems easy to make – bookmarking this lovely recipe 🙂
