Cakes are a must at any party and since I am working on the Anniversary Theme , I naturally had to post a cake . This is the cake that I made for our Anniversary .
I made the cake with a cake mix , but you could use any recipe of a chocolate cake . Now instead of filling the cake in layers , I scooped out the cake and filled it up . The top slice of the cake is saved to cover it up . After filling the scooped cake , I covered it with the saved slice .I poured ganache  and then poured the strawberry sauce  over it . You could decide whether you want to pour the purée or leave it as it is with some strawberry chunks . I was not happy with the final look but I had no choice . With everyone ready for cutting the cake and all eyes on you it gets difficult to click as well . Anyways we loved this scooping and filling concept and the cake tasted amazing .

Strawberry Cream filled Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

1 basic chocolate cake
Whipped cream
Ganache
Strawberry Sauce

For sauce

2 cups strawberries
1/4 cup sugar
2 tbsp water
1 tsp cornstarch

Method

Sauce

Combine strawberries , sugar and water and bring to simmer over medium heat .
Reduce heat and cover and simmer till the strawberries are mushy .
Dissolve 2 tbsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp water and gradually add to the strawberries , stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and is glossy .
Remove from heat .
Let cool .
Purée half of the mix .

Assembling the cake

Remove a 1/4 thick slice of the cake and keep aside .
Now scoop out the centre making the cake hollow . It is like an empty bowl . Crumble the scooped cake .
Whip the cream, keep 1/2 cup aside .
To the rest Of cream mix the strawberry sauce with chunks .
Add the cake crumbs.
Mix well.
Fill the cake bowl with this filling .
Cover with the top slice which has been kept aside.
Pour the ganache over the cake.
Place the cake in the frig to set.
Remove after an hour.
Pour the puréed strawberry sauce .
Decorate as you wish .
