BM # 28   Day 1

After a month long marathon, only two days have passed and we are back into another edition. This week I have picked samosas .

I have always liked samosas, the Indian pastry with spicy potato stuffing, deep fried to a golden, or baked .They are a perfect tea time snack. Patti samosas are samosas made from strips made of all purpose flour .These are more crisp and crunchy and normally served as  biting’ s.  The stuffing can vary. Cheese is one special ingredient for Gujarati’s they like cheese in everything, be it dosa or pulao , cheese is must. These samosas are very popular in Gujrati homes and are served for parties. these are normally fried, but I prefer to bake .
20 ready samosa pattis / strips
If you do not have the samosa strips you can always make them .Check here.

  1. It's lovely to start another edition so quick Vaishali…infact because it was Indian bread it was so easy for me to bounce back. I simply love samosas and can have them anytime!…with cheese it must have tasted awesome..I really wonder how gujjus have got so fancied on cheese though…it's amazing..I would fit in so easily you know..heheh

  2. look like those patti strips are similar to phyllo dough. Maybe I'll try it for my 3rd samosa. as I've already done two for this same category I am doing week 3. I love cheese – must be so good!

  3. Kalyani, these are actually made in the regular samosa crust..though a mini version is made as they are served with drinks..and I had the samosa pattis so I tried with those.

  4. Great write up – love the fact that you sourced your oun ingredients to make your Paneer Samosa – it determines your passion, love and dedication for the food you cook.

    “HATS OFF TO YOU.”
