Coffee Frappe’ is a Greek sweet iced coffee blended with milk and espresso which makes a perfect summer drink.
Greek Coffee is very popular all over Greece and is supposed to be their national drink. The people of Greece are very fond of this coffee and you shall find people drinking this coffee all over Greece.
The word Frappe’ comes from French, where it describes drinks chilled with ice. These drinks could be without coffee too. One can have fruit-based Frappe’, where fruit and milk are blended with ice, or Vanilla Frappe where vanilla-flavoured milk is blended with ice. Chilled with ice is the key!
One can serve this coffee without sugar and milk – yes just blend coffee powder, cold water and ice!
One can customise the coffee as per one’s taste – make it sweet, or milky, strong or light, but chill it with ice. I have used some caramel sauce to give it a unique flavour, like I said you can make it according to your preferences. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or serve it with some whipped cream, they all taste one better than the other.
You can use a blender to make the coffee, or a shaker or even a mini blender to froth up the coffee.
We have some amazing coffee joints here which serve delicious Frappe’. Danny’s is a roadside joint that serves awesome coffee, Frappe’ being the hot favourite. It’s a hangout place for the younger generation, though I feel homemade coffees are the best. Don’t you think so too?

Notes

I’m getting tempted to have this coffee right now. I normally added cocoa powder. Will try with caramel syrup as well. I’m sure it must have taken the taste to next level.
Three great coffee recipes from someone who doesn’t drink coffee :-)! I add chocolate truffles to coffee (hot coffee) if I have some at hand, but caramel is also such a great flavor.
