Dahi Boondi Raita is a accompaniment which is made with whipped yogurt and tiny gram dumplings . It makes a great accompaniment with any Indian lunch dinner menu and can be prepared in a jiffy .
Boondi Raita is one of the simplest of raitas and every family has their own version . I make this Raita in a number of ways but to make it delicious one must use fresh chilled yogurt and whisk it well . I normally use a thick sieve , so I get a uniform texture . The boondi can be made at home or can be store bought . The stores gave a variety of boondi , plain , masala , with pepper . Here I have used plain boondi and soaked it very well . I normally like to use the spices as garnish ,though they can be mixed along with salt .
A chilled boondi raita in summers is very refreshing and can also be used for topping the chats . It tastes awesome with finely chopped green chillies , that is if you like raw green chillies .
I had made this Raita for the Protein Rich Sindhi Thali as both yogurt and boondi are protein rich . I am posting this under the Special Theme for Day 1 .

Boondi raita seems to be very popular and see lot of people blogging about it and also hear a lot about it from my virtual friends. But I never tasted it. We don’t make it at home. I think it is high time I taste this ever so popular raita.
This is the easiest and most favorite raita in my family. My daughter eats curd only in this way. So hardly there will be any day when this raita is not made. You have made it look so good with coriander wall between boondi and RCP 🙂
