Dhokla Cake is a steamed lentil cake made with two different layers of lentils and rice . It is soft and spongy and adorns your breakfast table .

Dhokla Cake
Ingredients
Yellow Dhokla batter
1 carrot , grated
White Dhokla batter
Tempering
2-3 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp sesame seeds
Few curry leaves
1-2 fresh green chilly
1-2 dry red chilly
1 tsp grated carrot
Coriander leaves
Method
Place water in a steamer and let the water boil.
Grease a cake tin.
Pour the white dhokla batter and place it to steam .
In the meantime add grated carrots to the yellow dhokla batter and mix well .
As soon as the white dhokla is done , which should take about 10 minutes , pour the yellow dhokla mix .
Cover and steam till done.
Test check with a skewer .
It should come out clean .
Tempering
Heat oil.
Add mustard seeds , let splutter .
Add curry leaves and slit green chillies .
Immediately add whole red chillies and sesame seeds .
Pour on the cake .
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Cut into wedges and serve .
