Methi Poori

Methi Poori is a crunchy poori , made with wheat flour , spices and dry fenugreek . The sesame seeds give it a super crunch .

The third week of September Mega Marathon and we are posting Sweets and Snacks . For this week I have chosen Diwali Snacks which are popular in Gujrat . Gujrati’s are really really good with their farsan skills . They make these nashtas throughout the year , some of them make excellent lunch box snacks too . Methi Poori is one such snack .

The Methi Poori is made with whole wheat flour , sesame seeds , dry fenugreek leaves or Kasoori methi and are generously spiced with red chilly and turmeric . The pooris after frying golden turn into a crispy , crunchy and spicy munch . These are best served with tea or coffee . These spicy pooris can be moderately spiced or for that matter you can completely skip the chillies when making for kids .

Methi Pooris is one naashta which is almost a must during the festival season . A few pooris along with some Tikha Ganthia and a cup of Elaichi wali Chai and your soul is satisfied, for people who do not have tea, enjoy the pooris with a pickle and a nice lemony drink
