Tofu, also known as bean curd, is a food made by coagulating soy milk and then pressing the resulting curds into soft white blocks. There are many different varieties of tofu, including fresh tofu and tofu that has been processed in some way. Tofu has a subtle flavor and can be used in savory and sweet dishes. It is often seasoned or marinated to suit the dish.
For Vietnamese Cuisine I made this pan fried Tofu. In case you are not a tofu fan you could use cottage cheese too. The key to this recipe is throwing in some salt after cutting the blocks, mixing it well and wait for at least 10 minutes. It’s dipped in coarsely ground roasted rice flour and tastes amazing with the dipping sauce.
Pan Fried Tofu
1 block Tofu
Roasted Rice powder
Roast the rice,till they lend a wonderful aroma.
Grind them coarsely.
Cut the tofu into rectangles, sprinkle salt.
Gently toss the tofu with rice powder, since it is slightly wet, the powder sticks to it.
Heat a non stick pan.
Drizzle some oil.
Place the tofu pieces and cook till they are slightly brown.
