Samosa Pockets

Samosa Pockets are a delicious, crispy and flaky pastry made with readymade sheets and a potato, peas and peanut suffing.

For the second day of Special Theme I have another recipe from my Sindhi Thali . These Samosa Pockets are not something truly Sindhi , but I have used a stuffing that mom used to prepare for Aloo Tikkis . The Aloo Tikkis were mom’s signature dish and she would make them every time there were guest . So while making these samosas , I used mom’s recipe of the stuffing .

The crust is the ready made samosa sheets that I get from Big Basket . I love these sheets as they are super easy and handy to use , besides they make absolutely crisp crust for any kind of patty . There are many ways to use these sheets and these Samosa Pockets is just one of them .

The pockets are very easy with folding and even a kid can make them without any difficulty . One just has to lay a sheet vertically , and another one over it horizontally , thus making a cross . The stuffing is placed on the center and then the sheets are folded and sealed with all purpose glue . The best part of these pockets is that you can make them ahead and freeze them , remove them just before frying , there’s no need to thaw them either .

If you do not want to fry these just brush them lightly with oil and bake them . You can even use a air fryer , like I have done . These pockets make a wonderful party or a rainy day snack . Serve them with some spicy green chutney and a cup of Elaichi wali Chai and you sure are to love the crispy , crunchy pockets .
