Fada ni Lapsi
Fada ni Lapsi is a porridge which is cooked with broken wheat along with pure ghee , sugar / jaggery and cardamom . This comes from a Gujarati kitchen .
- 3 tbsp ghee
- 1/2 cup broken wheat
- 1/2 cup sugar
- pinch Largecardamom powder
- Nuts to garnish
Heat ghee preferably in a nonstick pan .
Add broken wheat and roast , stirring continuously till it turns golden .
Add 2 cups warm water and mix well .
Let the water boil , then simmer the gas and let the wheat cook for about 15 minutes or till done . Stir at regular intervals .
Add the sugar and cardamom powder .
Mix well , simmer and cook for another 5-7 minutes or till ghee separates .
Serve garnished with nuts .
