Anarosher Chutney ( Pineapple Chutney )
Anarosher Chutney / Pineapple Chutney is a delicious sweet , slightly tart and spicy chutney , popular in Bengali homes .
Prep Time 5 minutes minutes Cook Time 15 minutes minutes Total Time 20 minutes minutes
- 2 cups pineapple pieces chopped
- 1/2 tsp oil
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 whole red chilli
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp ginger juice
- 2 pinches salt
- 3/4 cup water
Heat oil add mustard seeds , bay leaf and whole red chilli.
Add the pineapple pieces let cook for a minute or two.
Add ginger juice , salt and water and let it cook till it shrinks a little .
Add sugar and let it cook for another 15-20 minutes cover and cook tillĀ the pineapple pieces have softened .
The water and sugar will make a thick syrup coating the pineapples.
