Since Diwali is an Indian Festival I have used a big Indian plate, Thali for this board. The small bowls are Kotoris .
There is such a huge variety of Indian sweets and snacks, and you can just fill the platter with different sweets .
Halwa has a good shelf life and can be made well in advance . Gajjar ka Halwa or Carrot Halwa is a popular Indian halwa which is normally served in winters . Moong Dal Halwa is a Lentil Halwa. Lauki ka Halwa or Badam ka Halwa are very delicious and can be added too.
Barfis & Ladoos are a must on all Indian festivals . You could keep 2-3 varieties of these. I made Besan ki Barfi , Seviyo ki Barfi , khajoor ke Ladoo . The Nuts Bite is from a sweet shop.
Farsaan / Namkeens will fill up the board / plate and makes a nice crunchy spicy munch . I feel after eating anything sweet our taste buds demand a little salty too.
Nuts act as fillers , though its almost mandatory to serve them for the festival .
