Kesari Mango & Roasted Almond Shrikhand

Kesari Mango & Roasted Almond Shrikhand is a traditional Dessert made with hung curd, sugar and flavorings.  This is one of the most popular desserts of  Gujarat as well as Maharashtra .

Ingredients

  • 2 cups thick yogurt
  • 1 cup mango pulp
  • 1/4 cup sugar powdered
  • 1/4 cup mango pieces
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • Few strands saffron
  • 2-3 tbsp almonds chopped
  • 1 tbsp Pistachios chopped

Instructions

  • Soak the saffron in some warm milk.
  • After a few minutes using a mini mortar pestle , scrub the saffron and make a paste .
  • Whisk the hung curd till creamy .
  • Add the powdered sugar and mango pulp .
  • Whisk again so that everything blends well .
  • Add the mango pieces , almonds , saffron paste and cardamom powder .
  • Mix gently.
  • Garnish with mango pieces , chopped almonds and pistachios .
