Lahsuni Daal aur Jowar ka Rotla

A simple, no frill meal with basic Daal and Rotla.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup moong daal
  • 1 small tomato
  • 1 green chilly
  • 1/2 tsp ginger paste
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp ghee
  • 2 tsp garlic finely chopped

Instructions

  • Wash and soak the daal for 15 minutes.
  • Wash again and pressure cook the daal with tomato, green chilly , ginger paste, salt and turmeric powder.
  • Cook for 2 whistles and open the cooker after the pressure drops . Mash the daal with the back of a spoon . It should be smooth .
  • Adjust the consistency by adding water.
  • Boil well .
  • Add lemon juice.
  • Heat ghee , add chopped garlic , let it turn golden . Make sure it does not burn.
  • Add to the daal .
  • Serve hot with Jowar ki Roti .
