Laiya Bhel with roasted Peanuts

A lip smacking protein rich Bhel made with roasted peanuts, chikpeas and peas. Spicy, crunchy and tangy, a perfect munch !

Ingredients

  • 2 cups peanuts
  • 1 tsp oil
  • roasted cumin powder, chat masala mix all three
  • salt to taste

Laiya Bhel

  • roasted peanuts
  • roasted chickpeas
  • roasted green peas
  • roasted laiya
  • 1 tsp onion finely chopped
  • 1 tsp tomato finely chopped
  • 1 tsp raw mango finely chopped
  • 2 green chilly roughly chopped
  • coriander leaves
  • chat masla to taste
  • salt to taste
  • lemon juice

Instructions

  • Place peanuts in a bowl , drizzle oil and toss to coat.Sprinkle salt and mix well.
  • Bake at 300 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes stirring occasionally till brown.
  • Transfer to an un greased baking tray.
  • Remove and mix the spices while still hot .
  • Spread on a waxed paper, let cool and store in a airtight container.

Roasting Laiya

  • Heat 1 tsp oil add a pinch of turmeric and a very small pinch of salt .
  • Mix well , without burning .
  • Add the kurmuras and roast on slow fire stirring constantly .
  • Once crisp , let cool .

Laiya Bhel

  • Mix the ingredients for the Bhel and drizzle lemon juice and mix again.
  • Serve in paper cones and enjoy .
