Maharashtrian Poori

Maharashtrian Poori is a Indian bread from the Maharashtra region . Herbs and spices are added to make this melt in the mouth spiced poori .

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/8 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 large onion grated
  • 2 green chillies paste
  • leaves Few coriander paste

Instructions

  • Place oil to heat .
  • Take a mixing bowl and add the wheat flour .
  • Add turmeric powder and salt .
  • Add grated onion and chilly , coriander paste .
  • Mix well with hands .
  • Gradually adding water bind the dough .
  • Drizzle a tbsp of oil and knead the dough till smooth and pliable .
  • Pinch out a lemon size ball and roll into a disc of about 4” .
  • Deep fry the poori turning once , till nice and golden .
  • Similarly make other pooris .
