Matar ki Kheer

Matar ki kheer is a milk-based Indian sweet. It is a unique kheer where fresh green peas are used . Cardamom and rose petals take the kheer to another level.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1/4 cup fresh green peas
  • Sugar as per taste
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder

Garnish

  • Pistachio chopped
  • Rose petals fresh or dried

Instructions

  • Coarsely grind the peas.
  • Heat ghee in a pan and saute the peas till the raw smell disappears.
  • Always roast in slow flame to retain the freshness.
  • Add milk and cook till the milk has reduced to a little less than half.
  • Add cardamom powder and sugar.
  • Cook for another 3-4 minutes and then transfer the Kheer into serving bowls.
  • Garnish with chopped pistachio and rose petals.
  • Chill before serving.
