Nuts Chikki

Nuts Chikki is a popular and traditional Indian candy made with a mix of almond, cashew, pistachios and flavoured with cardamom . It is one of the exotic Chikki variations .

Ingredients

  • 250 gms jaggery
  • 250 gms mix nuts ( almonds cashews and pistachios )
  • Few strands saffron
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder

Instructions

  • Grease the counter of your platform and place a bowl of water before you start making the brittle
  • Lightly roast the nuts , cut them into halves .
  • Heat 1 tsp oil in a nonstick pan .
  • Grate the jaggery and place it in the pan on slow heat .
  • Let it melt , while it melts , stir continuously , or it may burn .
  • The jaggery should turn golden and thick.
  • Test check by adding a drop in the bowl of water .
  • The ball should be hard , brittle.
  • Add the roasted nuts , cardamom powder and saffron .
  • Mix well and immediately bring it down on the greased counter .
  • Quickly wet your hand and bring together the lump .
  • Using a greased rolling pin roll the brittle .
  • Using a pizza cutter make incisions .
  • Let set and then break into pieces .
