Ingredients

Bataka Bhaji

  • 2-4 tbsp Oil
  • 6 Tomatoes
  • Few Curry Leaves
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Green Chilly Paste
  • 2-3 Potatoes boiled, mashed
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Chilly Powder
  • Salt to taste

Accompaniments

  • Pav
  • Fried Chillies optional
  • Garlic Chutney optional

Instructions

  • Place a pan to heat. Add oil.
  • To the hot oil, add curry leaves and ginger garlic paste. Saute for a minute and add the chopped tomatoes.
  • Cook the tomatoes till soft and mushy.
  • Add salt, turmeric and red chilly powder. Cook the spices for a minute and add boiled and mashed potatoes. Mix well so everything is blended uniformly.
  • Add water to adjust the consistency.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve with Pav bread, fried chillies and garlic chutney.
  • Both fried chillies and garlic chutney are optional, but recommended for that extra flavour.
