Method
Wash the amlas well .
Next take a big pot , fill it with enough water so that the Amlas are submerged .
Place the water to boil .
Once the water starts boiling add the amlas .
Boil the amlas for 2 minutes and then switch off the flame and cover them for 5 minutes .
Drain the water using a sieve.
As soon as they become cold , slice them using a knife, remove the kernels .
Put the Amla pieces in other pot and add 650 gms of sugar , so that it covers all the Amla pieces .
Powder the 50 gms and keep aside .
Cover and leave overnight .
Next day sugar will turn into a syrup and Amla pieces will float .
Stir the syrup and pieces and then these covered for another 2-3 days .
After 2-3 days the Amla pieces will sink down .
Use a thick sieve , strain the Amla pieces . Reserve the syrup .
Pick each piece and place them on a plastic sheet and place them in the sunlight .
Sun dry these pieces till they are completely dry .
Toss these into powdered sugar and store the Amla Candy in a airtight container .
The reserved syrup can be used to make Amla Sharbet .
