Mattar Paneer

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp ghee
  • 1 large onion. Finely chopped
  • 2 large tomatoes puréed
  • 1 cup fresh green peas
  • 100 gms cottage cheese
  • 1/2 tsp ginger grated
  • 2 green chilly finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp red chilly powder
  • 1/8 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • Cut cottage cheese into cubes and deep fry .
  • Immediately immerse them in water .
  • Heat 2 tbsp oil + 1 tsp ghee in a pressure cooker.
  • Add the onion and sauté till pink.
  • Add ginger and green chillies.
  • Add the green peas and sauté.
  • Add all spices and sauté again .
  • Add tomato purée and cook till all moisture is absorbed .
  • Drain the cottage cheese cubes .
  • Add the cubes and about one cup water .
  • Mix well and close the lid of pressure cooker.
  • Let cook for one whistle and then simmer for 5-7 minutes .
  • Switch off the gas and let the pressure release .
  • Add coriander leaves and serve .
