Paneer Lasooni

Paneer Lasooni is a delicious paneer dish that is dominantly flavoured with garlic. It has a rich creamy gravy made with onions and tomatoes.

Ingredients

Paste

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 cardamoms
  • 3 onions cubed
  • 8-10 cloves garlic
  • Small piece ginger
  • 10-12 cashews
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilly powder
  • 5 red chillies dried
  • 500 ml water
  • Salt to taste

Curry

  • 500 gms paneer
  • oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 ” ginger julienned
  • 2-3 green chillies chopped
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1/4 cup garlic finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup curd
  • salt
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp kasuri methi
  • 3 tsp fresh cream
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • chopped coriander

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds.
  • As soon as it crackles add onion, garlic, ginger and chillies.
  • Sauté till golden brown.
  • Add the masala paste and mix well. Fry for few minutes.
  • Add the curd, salt, garam masala powder and kasuri methi and mix well.
  • Let it cook till the oil separates.
  • Check and adjust seasoning.
  • Add the paneer and mix gently.
  • Add the cream and then the butter.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes and serve hot garnished with coriander leaves, ginger and cream.
