Qubani ka Meetha

Qubani ka Meetha is a traditional dessert from the city of Hyderabad . The dessert is made with dried apricots and served with fresh cream .

Ingredients

  • 250 gms dried apricots
  • 1/8 cup sugar

For serving

  • Fresh cream / ice cream / custard

Instructions

  • Soak the apricots in 11/2 cups water overnight.
  • Remove the seeds and crack them open.
  • Blanch the almonds from seeds and keep them aside for garnish .
  • Boil the apricots in the same water in which they have been soaked.
  • Add sugar and boil for about 10 minutes.
  • Let cool.
  • Keep aside half of the apricots and purée the other half .
  • Mix the two .
  • Serve hot or cold garnished with almond kernels and cream.
  • The dessert can also be served with ice cream or custard .
