Soya ki Seekh

Soya ki Seekh is a Indian snack made on skewers with minced soya granules and spices . These rolls on sticks are roasted on charcoal .

Ingredients

  • 11/2 cups soya granules
  • 3 potatoes boiled
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp red chilly powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp dry mango powder
  • 2 tbsp roasted chick pea flour
  • Few finely chopped mint leaves Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Add soya to hot water and allow to soak until softened.
  • Drain and squeeze up excess frothy water. Rinse them twice more with cold water and squeeze off well to remove excess water.
  • Peel the boiled potatoes and mash them.
  • Dry roast the chickpea flour until it turns aromatic.
  • Heat a non stick pan and sauté the soya till completely dry.
  • Now add the ginger garlic paste and sauté .
  • Switch off the flame and add boiled potatoes , roasted chickpea flour and all the spices.
  • Mix well with hand.
  • Grease your hands and shape them on to skewers or ice cream sticks  . You could simply make them into round pattice.
  • Drizzle some oil over the non stick tawa and roast till golden.
  • Alternatively you could shallow fry or deep fry or if you wish you can pop them into a air fryer too .
