Special Weekend Thali is a Thali that has been made on a weekend with all our favourite dishes.
Weekends is the time when normally my children come over for dinner and that is the time that I like to cook all their favourite dishes. I like to add one new dish too to the menu.
The Thali that I am presenting today is special as it was relished by everyone and each member had their special dish cooked just the way they would like.
Let’s check what is on this plate –
Stuffed Potatoes
Palak ka Raita
Lab e Sherin
Dal e Maharani is the whole black gram or Sabut Urad which is slow-cooked and due to this its taste is really extraordinary. It’s creamy, thick and delicious. This dal is my son’s favourite.
Stuffed Potatoes
Stuffed Potatoes are potatoes that have been boiled, peeled and then stuffed with a rich stuffing of grated cottage cheese, herbs, spices and nuts and raisins. This happens to be one of hubby’s favourite.
Crispy Karela
Crispy Karela is Bitter Gourd that is sliced and marinated with salt and yoghurt to remove the bitterness and then fried to a crisp golden. Garlic cloves, peanuts and curry leaves are fried as well. All things are mixed and seasoned with dry spices. These bitter gourds from South India are a hot favourite of everyone in the family. Is it hard to believe? Go on try for yourself!
Bhindi Masala
Bhindi Masala needs no introduction. It is one of the most simple, yet frequently made side dish in our house. The Okras are stuffed with dry spices like chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, dry mango powder and salt. To this spice powder, we add just two-three cloves of finely chopped garlic, and that’s the secret of the delicious Bhindi Masala.
Palak ka Raita
Palak ka Raita is an Indian condiment where sauteed spinach is added to yoghurt and seasoned with spices. It is nutritious as well as delicious.
Warqi Paratha
Warqi Paratha is a layered flatbread. For this particular flatbread, I have added Nigella seeds and carom seeds to the paratha to make it more flavorful.
Lab e Sherin
Lab e Sherin is an exotic Pakistani dessert which is very rich, made with custard and fruits. It is a very refreshing and delicious dessert. Most of these recipes are already posted, Lab e Sherin is a new recipe that I tried, and we all loved it.
This is my Day 2 Thali under the Theme Thali’s and Spreads.
