Chocolate Truffle Cake is one of the most sinful , delicious , moist cake one can ever have . The cake is dense and a chocolate lovers delight .
For me this cake needs no occasion , give it to me any time of the day , month , year , I would be happy to gobble it down . A freshly frosted cake is my weakness , but even if it is chilled and hard , I don’t mind . I microwave it for a few seconds ! It becomes nice and gooey ! A truffle cake is heavenly and my favourite dessert .
This Truffle Cake was made by Juhi , she picked the recipe from Gayathri’s blog . This is one of the best cake recipe one can ever make , and almost everyone in my family is hooked on to it . Thanks Gayathri ! Needless to say the cake was a complete treat and while I am writing this post I am craving to eat some chocolate cake .
The cake has been frosted with Chocolate Ganache , which is silky and smooth . We did not cut the cake to add more layers of ganache , even though we love it . Just to avoid the extra calories .
Juhi is at present studying in London and how I miss that girl . We both are fond of cakes and now that she is not here , I don’t feel like baking just for myself ! Well go on , bake this cake and if you want to fill it with layers of ganache , please do ! it only gets more sinful . Go ahead you will love it .

Chocolate Truffle Cake
Ingredients
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
4 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup curd
1/4 cup unsweetened coffee
1tsp vanilla essence
Frosting
Chocolate Ganache
Method
Preheat the oven to 175 deg C.
Grease and line a cake tin .
Sift flour , sugar , cocoa , baking powder and baking soda .
Mix oil , milk , curd and vanilla .
Mix the dry ingredients with wet ingredients till well incorporated .
Heat 1:4 cup of water and add 1/2 tsp of coffee .
Add this coffee to the cake batter and mix well .
At this point you can divide the cake between two tins . ( optional , I didn’t do )
Bake for 30 -40 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean . ( this would depend on how thick your cake is .)
Invert the cake on a cooling rack and wait for it to come to room temperature .
You can now frost the cake .
Frosting
Spread the chocolate ganache on top and cover the sides too .
I made a simple pattern with a fork .
Chill and serve .
Notes
In case you want a filling in between the cake then you should make two cakes or cut it into two .
Spread a good layer of ganache on the first cake .
Sandwich the cake with the other cake and frost with ganache .

Vaishali I love this cake and can have it as a meal. You know I am going to love this week. Sad it has only 3 days the cake has turned out great and the design on top is cute with those lines.

I may be a chocolate lover but somehow truffle cakes don’t appeal to me… for me it has to be fluffy and moist… hehe… but slowly now I seem to enjoy them, though I can’t have more than one small slice. That cake looks like a lovely treat if you have a small crowd to feed, and like you said, can have it with coffee over a few days too if you don’t want to share…

Chocolate truffle is indeed a very decadent and sinful cake. You can’t leave it and then feel guilty about consuming so many calories. Though I don’t care about calories but my husband reminds me that I want to control my diet. ..he he.
