BM # 5 Day 5
Another great recipe for breakfast, which is quick , low cal and nutritious is the Moong daal cheelas. These are nothing but savoury bean pancakes.
Moong daal cheelas are a speciality of Rajasthan.Normally they are made by simply grinding the daal ,but I use paneer while grinding, this makes the cheelas really soft. Here goes the recipe…
Batter
2cups………yellow moong daal
1cup………..grated paneer /tofu
Salt to taste
Wash and soak moong daal overnight.
Grind to a fine paste adding paneer.
Add salt.
(batter consistency…dosa)
Stuffing / topping
1cup……….grated paneer / tofu
Finely chooped coriander
Finely chopped green chilly
Finely chopped spring onion
Salt to taste
Chaat masala
Mix all ingredients except chaat masala.
Heat a non stick gridle.
Spread the batter in circular motion
(similar to that of dosa)
Let cook sprinkling little oil.
Spread the paneer mix.
Sprinkle chaat masala.
Flip over for just a few seconds.
You are ready to serve.
These cheelas can be made uttapam style..that is with toppings , alternatively you can make these dosa style wherein you have to add the paneer stuffing.Serve with mint chutney.
