Envelopes of Love
My passion for paper started when n I started working as a volunteer designer with a handicapped and blind girls institute. Amazingly  these girls are really talented. I  helped them with designing envelopes. The blind could not do much but girls with partial vision did great jobs . I was careful to keep my designing simple.
Most of the paper we used was handmade,we got the envelopes made by a local vendor . There after we embellished them . After finishing the envelopes were packed and sold at exhibitions .
These envelopes are popular as Lifafa which is the Hindi word for envelopes . One can put rupees or dollars in these decorative envelopes which are  used as gifts for special occasions like weddings , birthdays etc .

some of the designs that we did.

 the shimmer collection..

envelopes made of fabric. These could not be done by the girls so my mom.in law helped.

We used shimmer paper and fine gorget fabric for the scrolls . Cane has been used for stick which is covered  with a shimmery tape.the ends can be adorned with blings or beads .

These are small envelopes where a mini envelope is enclosed inside .

Transperancy has been cut and formed into a tube which is adorned by ‘titanic ribbon’.
A small hole has been punched at one corner for tieing some jingles
Your currency has to be rolled n then inserted!!

some of my favourite ones.
