BM # 8 Day 7
Today is the last day of the BM # 8 ,of the first week.Since we had a twist this time,we could split the week into two themes. The first theme that I picked was No Fire Cooking, and the second Condiments.Well incidentally today’s post is the combination of both the themes.Today I have picked up two raitas, which are really quick ,delicious and, even a kid could do them.Raita is beaten curd wherein you mix different seasonings and either vegetables or lentil dumplings, may be nuts or fruits.I served these with a vegetable pulao.
Mint Raita
1pckt /200gms…….amul curd or homemade curd
Grind coarsely……
1…………………………….green chilly
10-15……………………. mint leaves
Few……………………… coriander leaves
Salt to taste
A big pinch black salt
A few drops lemon juice(this will retain the fresh green color)
Beat the curds.
Add paste.mix well.
Chill n serve.
Garlicky Onion Tomato Raita
1pckt …………….amul curd / home made curd
½………………….. onion finely chopped
½ …………………. tomato finely chopped
½………………….. cucumber finely chopped
To be made into a paste
5…………………….cloves garlic
1…………………….dry red chilly
1tsp ………………daalia
1tsp……………… peanuts
Salt to taste
Blend the curds.
Add chopped vegetables.
Add the paste.
Mix well,chill n serve.
Of course you could adjust the seasonings according to your taste. It really does’nt matter in a Raita.
