Throughout my US trip, I ate loads and loads of potatoes. Truly, at times being vegetarian can be difficult. While on my trip we stayed with family, so food was not a issue, but whenever we traveled and ate out, I felt potatoes were the safest. One can never ever go wrong with them.
These fries might be popular is US, but with me they have been popular ever since I was a kid. My kids too love these and we call them Haldi wale Aaloo , meaning Turmeric Potatoes, for the simple reason that I sprinkle turmeric and red chilly powder after frying them.
How to make these
Peel and slice the potatoes.
Apply salt and leave them for about 10 minutes.
Deep fry till done, you need not wait for them to get crisp.
Sprinkle turmeric powder and a pinch of red chilly powder.
