Rajasthani Thali

Rajasthani Thali is a traditional delicious meal where you have a array of traditional Rajasthani dishes served in a platter. I have posted different Rajasthani Thalis earlier but seriously this cuisine is one of our favourites and there are so many dishes that still need to come on the blog.

 

Today’s Rajasthani Thali is a very special Thali as it has been prepared by a true Rajasthani lady , who happens to be an excellent cook and my very dear friend . We are friends since the very first day of school and fortunately both are married in the same city . Time and again I have taken her help regarding menus , recipes, but this time I am a step ahead . The whole Thali has been prepared by her and we ate the meal together and what a delicious meal .

Fried pastry with a stuffing of potatoes and fresh green peas .

Paneer

Mattar Paneer
Mattar Paneer is actually a Punjabi dish but getting popular in all states . This is a Rajasthani version , we even have a Gujju version .

Rajasthani Kadhi Pakora

Rajasthani Kadhi Pakora
Rajasthani Kadhi Pakora is a curry made with yogurt , chickpea and dumplings . The Kadhi is tempered with mustard , fennel seeds which makes it truly Rajasthani .

Achaari Karela

Achaari Karela
Bitter gourds cooked in pickled spices , a absolute treat .

Saangri

Saangri
A traditional vegetable from Rajasthan , which is stocked in the dried form . Cooked in mustard oil , the dish can be stored in refrigerator for at least a month .

Rice
No frill , steamed rice with a dollop of ghee .

 

Missi Roti

Missi Roti
Missi Roti is a typical Rajasthani flatbread prepared with a combination of chickpea flour and wheat flour , and smeared lavishly with ghee .

Aam ki Launji

Aam ki Launji
Raw mango cooked in a sweet and delicious pickle .

Dahi Wada

Dahi Wada
Dahi Wadas are Lentil dumplings dunked in freshly whipped curd served with Sweet tamarind chutney , green chutney .

Stuffed Gulab Jamun ( store bought )
Stuffed Gulab Jamun is a delicious india sweet . These are made of khoya and stuffed with nuts and saffron .
