I have always loved the aroma of coffee, the minute I pass by Starbucks, I feel like walking in and sitting there and enjoying this aroma. Strange, but I do not drink any coffee. No, I am not a tea person either, and recently I have kind of become vegan. I never used to drink milk, but now have stopped milk products too.

For this Marathon I chose to make Greek Cuisine. I wanted to begin with a drink, and came across this Frappe’. The recipe sounded very interesting. The Frappe is made in a cocktail shaker or a mini hand held beater .Since I did not have that mini blender, I got one from Amazon.

One or two teaspoons of instant coffee, sugar and a little water are blended to form a foam. The foam should become solid and when the glass is inverted it should not drop. I checked a video on it, and was amazed, looked like some magic trick. After foaming the coffee, sugar and water, ice cubes are added and then chilled water. Milk is optional, you could even use some vanilla ice cream, though I used some milk.Give a good stir with a straw, and there you are with one of the best Frappes’.

Since Juhi, my niece is very fond of these coffees, she was more than happy to drink it, I always like to hold the glass close to my nose and take a deep breadth and then have one small sip. Trust me this time it was a big sip.Ever since I made this Frappe’ it has become a regular feature at home.

This is my post for Week 3 Day 1 under the theme Flavors of Greece.

  2. I love coffee and I need my morning coffee to kick start my day. I have never made a frappe, but have had it at the coffee shops. No more coffee shop frappe!!

  3. Turning vegan scares me Vaishali, since you are not fond of either tea or coffee, I guess you are able to manage..I love my coffee and can’t imagine a morning without that..:)..this one is just my drink..
