
Whole Wheat Chocolate Cookies is my next post for Bake a thon.
When ever I go the supermarket and I am in the biscuits section , I love browsing different varieties of biscuits , but I always hold myself . Biscuits are hardly consumed in our house.The only biscuits that are consumed are either Digestive or Chocolate ones . I love the dark chocolate cream but buy only one pack with about 10 biscuits . This pack lasts me a month and can you believe Juhi shares it with me .
During vacations the biscuit consumption goes up drastically . It’s like 3-4 packets a day . The little grandkids ,they can survive on biscuits and chips. This time I baked loads of biscuits before they came and since I didn’t want them to eat all purpose flour all the time , I baked some with whole wheat too . Whole wheat chocolate cookies came out just the way kids wanted , nice and crunchy . I was happy that I could give them some healthy cookies .

Eggless Whole Wheat Digestive Biscuits

Whole Wheat Chocolate Cookies
Ingredients
1 cup Whole wheat flour
2-3 tbsp cocoa powder
1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup sugar, powdered
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla essence
1-2 tsp milk
Method
Sift the flour , cocoa powder ,baking powder and baking soda.
Cream sugar and butter.
Add vanilla essence and mix.
To this mixture add flour and mix well, it shall have a bread crumb like texture.
Add a teaspoon of milk and make a dough.
If the dough is crumby, add few drops of milk .
Pinch out small balls and place on a tray tray lined with baking paper.
Flatten the balls and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degree C for 15 minutes or till the cookies turn golden brown around the edges.
Cool on a wire rack.

Cute looking cookies and definitely healthy cookies for kids, even its happens with my kids. If its vacation here, they can munch biscuits or cookies easily obviously i do bake more just to keep them away from those store bought dangers.
I have a very skewed consumption pattern at home too… on school days, it hardly moves but on weekends and holidays, I have to scamper to hide the cookie tin, otherwise by the time I am home from work, it is all empty… hehe… love these chocolate cookies… it’s been so long since I baked some cookies, must get the girls to go ahead and do these…
