With peak summer a person wants just something chilled to drink. I have always been fond of aerated drinks, but since the past couple of years have been avoiding them, too many calories and so harmful. Well we did know this even before but sometimes it takes time to understand . Right ? Finally ! I have given up on them.
After giving them up I am forever finding interesting options for chilled drinks. With Valli announcing the Summer Coolers I had my chance to share some healthy and delicious drinks.
For the very first day it is a mocktail made with fresh coconut water and pomegranate juice. We all know the benefits of coconut water . It helps in loosing weight as it is low in calories and easy on the stomach. It is also rich in potassium . Pomegranate juice is very good for your heart, blood pressure , it reduces the risk of cancer. Combining these two we have a real healthy drink.
The proportions of both can vary, depending on your color choice and flavor. I added four parts of coconut and one part of pomegranate with a tsp of sugar and a few drops of lemon juice. The drink should be chilled to get that perfect taste.
Pomegranate and Coconut Mocktail
3/4 glass coconut water
1/4 glass pomegranate juice
1 tsp sugar ( or to taste )
Few drops lemon juice
Add sugar to the coconut water and let it dissolve.
Chill this coconut water and pomegranate juice.
Mix the two and add a few drops of lemon juice.
