Chocolate Cake in a Jar is a dessert with moist layers of dark chocolate cakes, fresh cream and sinful ganache topped with chocolate chips.
Single serving desserts are a rage now, and these Cake Jars fit perfectly for my BM theme as well as for Bakeathon . For today I have a chocolate cake with fresh cream and chocolate ganache. Well there’s no recipe as such all you need is to assemble these jars after you have all the ingredients ready .what you need is a chocolate cake, whipped cream, ganache and some chocolate chips.
For the first layer, I have a thin layer of ganache, this helps in keeping the base firm and neat. The base is chocolate cake, which you can make with your favourite chocolate cake recipe or you can even get a store-bought sponge. Cut these with a circle cutter or a bowl or glass. The third layer is whipped cream, one can use a spoon or piping bag to make its layer. You can decide how thin or thick the layer should be. Place another circle of chocolate cake and then spread a generous layer of ganache. The final touch is with chocolate chips.
This is the way I have arranged my jar, but you can alter or shift the layers according to your choice. By adding cherries you can make this into the Black Forest Cake. The options are many, one just needs to get innovative.
These Jar Cakes were made by Juhi, she has started taking orders for cakes and cookies over weekends. These cake jars were a total hit and she made about 20 of these jars. 90% of the work is done by her, I just taste and review and of course click the pics. Maybe help a little when she needs. So for this Bakeathon, I shall be posting most of her recipes.
These Jar Cakes are my Day 2 post under the theme Single Serving Desserts for BM #119 and my second post for Bakeathon.
Chocolate Cake in a Jar
Pipe out a layer of ganache on the base of the jar.
Using a circle cutter, cut out circles of cake from the chocolate cake.
Press a circle of cake onto the ganache layer.
For the third layer pipe out whipping cream or drop out a heaped tablespoon and level it with a spoon.
Repeat the cake layer and finally top with a generous layer of ganache.
Place a few chocolate chips, chill the cake jar for at least 2 hours for the flavours to infuse.
