Xtremely Soft Nylon Khaman

Xtremely soft Nylon Khaman is a lentil cake which is prepared from Talod brand, of instant mixes. It is extremely easy to prepare this Khaman.

Gujarat is famous for its steamed snacks. Khaman is one of the most popular steamed snacks which is sold on the streets as well as Farsan shops. Farsan shops open as early as 7 a.m and one can see fresh Khaman, Dhoklas being steamed. Since they are very popular here, we normally like to get them from these shops. Of course, at times the family wants Homemade Khaman.

For making Nylon Khaman, we need special besan flour, which is the very fine variety, and many times we do not stock it. Sometime back a friend made Nylon Khaman and I was surprised, it was even better than what we get in the Farsan Shops. I naturally had to ask.

To my surprise, she told me it was an instant mix, the very next day I called for it and tried, it surely was a breeze to make it and tasted fabulous. Ever since we have stopped getting from Farsan Shops. I am sharing the recipe that they have given on the pack, which is super simple. The brand Talod is quite popular and I am sure now available all over the globe.

  1. They definitely look soft and porous. I always keep an instant khaman packet handy as I find it a breeze to make it when hard pressed for time. I haven’t seen this brand but shall look out for it.

  2. Haha I love how you are becoming innovative with your title, especially X is always a tricky alphabet… The khaman looks so soft that I could dig in my teeth right away…
